Meet the women transforming coffee farming in the Rwenzori region through leadership, training, and community investment.
Rwenzori Ranges Coffee Farmers’ Cooperative Union is proud to promote gender equity across its value chain. Of our 2,096 members, over 800 are women—and their impact is undeniable. From managing washing stations to leading SACCOs and sitting on the Board of Directors, women are helping reshape the narrative of coffee farming.
Through gender equity policies and targeted training programs, we support women in accessing land, finance, and leadership roles. This isn’t just about fairness—it’s about productivity. Studies consistently show that gender-inclusive cooperatives are more profitable and sustainable.
For us, every bag of coffee represents the contribution of both women and men—equally valued, equally empowered.
